I can’t help laughing at other people’s misfortune, for example (homeless, funny looking people, and sometimes the handicapped) am I going to hell?

I am not Christian but I would think if this is an indicator of the "type" of person you are, it is not a good sign. If you ever find yourself homeless (it can happen, you know), are you going to laugh at yourself? If you ever get in a wreck or become handicapped in some way, is that going to be funny to you? If you ever have an accident or a medical condition that causes you to be "funny looking", are you going to find that amusing? If any of your family fall into "funny looking", "handicapped", or "homeless", are you going to laugh at them? Think about that.
