  • A wetsuit absorbs the water, which your body then heats up. They are cheaper, and will keep you reasonably warm on an autumn day for about 2 hours - enough to do a bit of surfing. The problem is they are constantly being cooled by the seawater temperature. A drysuit is more expensive, but keeps you both warmer and dry. If you are surfing in cold places, or want to be in the water for a long time, this is probably a better bet.
