Maybe you should ask the question the other way around: why are so many fanatics home schooled? Its not only the Cristians i think by the way.

I believe it is cos the "fanatics" are scared of what is being taught in the schools. They know they have no proof for their beliefs and that the stuff taught in schools (generally) has alot of proof and contradicts their own beliefs.

Parental influence, the reasoning why many people decide to homeschool their children is because schools don't support or teach religous dogma. So in fearful retaliation many parents opt to brainwash, oops, I mean teach their kids at home. Sad but true.

Some home schoolers are Christian, other aren't. It isn't a requirement.
