  • No. Most Christians are Christian because their parents were Christian, and they grew up in a mostly Christian country surrounded and influenced by Christian people. They are Christian for the same reason people are of any religion- geography.
  • I am not Christian. My family was, though not really hardcore practicing. I didn't really know about what Christians consider to be "God" until I was about seven or eight. I tried to be Christian, but every time I read Genesis, I couldn't help but think, "What a load of horse crap. Every time I read this, all I can think about is how similar it is to Greek and Roman mythology."
  • I am a Christian, and it isn't because I'm ignorant or because my parents were. I'm not ignorant -- I'm reasonably intelligent. Also, my family was not Christian growing up. I'm Christian because after doing a great deal of reading, soul-searching, and prayer, I was convinced that not only is God real, but that Jesus is His Son. Since then, I have formed a relationship with Christ, and I'm more and more convinced every day. I can't speak for other people, or tell what other people think. What I can say is that through a number of trials in my life, Christ has been a constant comfort and guide for my decisions.
  • No, the reason is simple, in order for me to believe in something I need to see some kind of proof (circumstancial proof is ok aslong as there is alot of it!) and I can see no proof what so ever that any religion is true.
  • Yes, by personal choice. I grew up in a nominal Christian household that sent the kids to Sunday School, but believed that once duty was done, that was enough. However, I was invited to the InterSchool Christian Fellowship meetings at school, and found that the girls and teachers there had a real and living faith, something that was very interesting, as I had never seen anything like that. Eventually, I went on a weekend camp, where the speaker spoke of how many people tried hard to be good enough for God, but always felt they failed. That was because we could never be "good enough". But, he said, God sent Jesus to pay for all the sins (disobedience, rebellion, shortcomings) of the world, making it possible to be good enough and start a new life as God's friend and follower. I knew that was what I needed, as I had been desperately trying to be good, and failing. The thought of someone dying on my behalf was so striking. I must have heard the facts before, but I had never understood the why. So I said that I was sorry to Jesus, and asked him to cover my sins, and make me clean before God. He did, and I have been living for him ever since-37 years now.
  • I'm technically a Catholic, so yes. But the only reason I am is so I can blame God for all my problems.
  • No Im not a Christian even though I was raised up by a pastor and around VERY Christian people. When I first read The Bible I noticed how much it contridicted itself. To me Chritianity is just another lie. Christians tell everyone of a different religion they are going to live for eternity in the firey depths of hell and try to shove their religion down everybodies throat. I think religion was created because people were afraid of dying and they needed something to look forward to after they die[Heavean]. And Hell was created for those who don't conform to their morals and beliefs.
  • I was raised by Christian parents who were raised by Christian parents who were raised by Christian prents, etc, etc. And I thank God every day for that. I heard my Dad "witness" to several people while I was growing up and I never saw him force anyone to believe or force his beliefs down any one's throat. They either believed or they didnt. It is not our purpose to cram religion down anyones throat. We are to plant the seed and let God take it from there. Those that say they are not Cristian because someone "forced it down my throat" are just looking for an excuse not to become a Christian. If you do not want to believe any old excuse is as good as the next. I have heard them all,"I dont go to church because of hypocrites", "I was forced to go when I was a kid", "They look down on me because of how I am dressed", all the excuses are just a pile of crap. But to answer the question, Yes, I am a Christian, and why, because I believe that only through the crucifixtion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ am I attoned for my sins. And I believe that is the only way to Heaven and eternal life offered by God.
  • No, but I believe in Christ, the great “son of man” to use his preferred title. Why not, because it is divisive, it sets people apart. I’d rather call myself a believer-in-The-Universal-God or a submitter-to-The-Universal-God. That way I do not set myself apart from anyone who believes in The Universal God. The only people who’d be set apart, unfortunately, are those who choose to believe that they and the creation around them have no creator. You might say that those two terms are cumbersome. Yes, but only in English. In Arabic they are single-word terms, Mu’min and Muslim.
  • no because it is make believe
  • not so sure...but Jebus is a great guy
  • Yes. Thanks to the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ that has cleansed me of all my sin. I am a born-again Christian because God loved me so much that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to shed His precious, sinless, and perfect blood and die for my sins on the cross of Calvary, and because He rose Jesus from the dead the third day afterwards. I am a Christian because God got a hold of my heart and showed me with His Holy Spirit and His inerrant Word, the Holy Bible, that I was a lost sinner guilty before God, and going to hell. He showed me Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who loved me and died for me and rose again from the dead. And God saved my soul by His grace the glorious hour that, by faith in Christ Jesus, called upon Him and ask Him to save me. I've been saved since then. Jesus has lived in my heart since then and I've never been the same. -In the Master's service. Thank you and God bless you!
  • No, because it is morally and socially damaging, creates unnecessary guilt complexes and false hopes, has not been rationally or empirically shown to be true, creates sheep out of people who could quite possibly think for themselves, destroys a sense of free and open sexuality, and there is too much evil in the world for a loving and benevolent higher power to exist.
  • No, because I was born into a different religion, and I am very content with my current one.
  • Im Pentacostal because that's the way god wanted it and the way I was born, raised and the way I want it.
  • I am. :)
  • no, im agnostic...sorta...
  • I'm not.
  • yes, but not traditional
  • um, neither one of my brain cells is working very well right now. i think Gandhi once replied that when christians act as Christ, then the whole world will be Christian. it's an absolutely irresistible consequence. quick, let's get started.
  • Yes. My 2 cents.
  • no but i respect their beliefs anyways
  • Yeah, but not traditional, and not catholic either. I think people fail to see Christianity as modern, but people are slowly getting there. There's even good Christian rock music!!!!
  • Nope. I am a non-believer.
  • Yes indeed I am and proud of it!
  • yes i am
  • nope, atheist, and glad
  • Yes. it's a way of life for me. I'm quite public about it. It is my upbringing and it gives me comfort. I can't imagine living any other way. I try my best to live a Godly life.
  • I am not a Christian. Christianity is based on a false premise, so I cannot believe.
  • No, I am not a Christian. I believe there are many paths to God - as many paths as there are people. Even if two people attend the same church, subscribe to the same interpretation of the Bible, etc., each of them walks his own path. I believe a lot of time is wasted trying to prove this or that interpretation of the Bible is right, when the message of the Bible is, first and foremost, personal discipleship to Jesus Christ. I believe Christianity is a valid path; I have seen evidence that it is. But it is not the only path, and it is not mine. My path is also a valid path; and my life is my evidence that it is.
  • Christian as in a specific religion or doctrine; no. Christian as in a belief in something greater than what we know or can understand; yes. As to the first it is because I believe many religions are big business and are often promoted by hypocrites. As to the second; there is enough mystery to life that at least in my mind cannot be explained by human concepts.+5
  • I was raised Catholic and try to live my life as a Catholic. Not just because it was how I was raised, but because I've had two family members personally see Jesus walking when nobody else saw him. My brother when he was 8 saw Jesus get off the cross and walk up to him. My sister's son who is 4 saw Jesus outside his bedroom window in the backyard. Right in front of my sister. He said he was smiling at him. My sister didn't see anything but proceeded to ask him to describe Jesus. He said he was wearing a long white shirt and had brown hair. My sister watched as her son followed him with his eyes as he walked in the backyard until he was gone. Now ask me if I believe in Jesus.
  • No I'm not a Christian, although I was brought up as one when I was a kid. . The reason why I am not is that I don't 'feel' the presence of Jesus and have had no personal experience of him in the way that others claim to have had. Without this the only thing I can look to is the evidence of his existence. Simply put there isn't any evidence even that a man named Jesus existed and was crucified in the 1st century. . In itself that's maybe not so unusual but if that man was indeed the Son of God there should be no doubt that he existed and evidence to prove it. There isn't so I don't believe.
  • I'm not. There are no gods.
  • yes. i wont explain why but i get relly annoyed at ppl that r like "theres o proof so i wont believe it"
  • I am not a Christian because I believe that Christianity degrades human beings and undermines human principles.
