  • ruffryder answered correctly, but to answer your subsequent question 'hungryguy', a TPS is a Throttle Position Sensor. In a nutshell, it tells the car's computer how far the throttle is open so it can monitor and adjust things like airflow, fuel flow, etc. It is one of the many sensors on a vehicle that helps the car know what's going on. If your TPS is bad, then you may experience rough idling, stalling, poor acceleration, etc. How hard it is to replace depends on the vehicle but usually it's pretty easy to access. Sorry, but I don't have a price quote for you. Call a local garage and they will provide that. I recommend getting it replaced soon - it could lead to more problems. Hope this helps, Good luck
