I would never try to convert anyone to my religion. I believe everyone has a right to their own beliefs. I am not here to preach. I suppose I could say that every week you can get absolution for your sins and feel cleansed. That is not preaching and is not intended to try to convert anyone.

Truthfully, as a Christian, I do not think that my job is to "convert" you. That is God's job. If you were someone I knew, I would be praying for you long before I ever spoke to you, asking God's Spirit to open your heart to the truth, and asking for opportunities to talk to you. I would also be praying that my life and words would be a good example of what a Christian is, so that you could see Christ in me. I don't do sales pitches. I prefer relationships. That is how Jesus sees people, not as targets but as precious individuals. When you see him interact with people in the New Testament, he doesn;t do sales pitches. He really talks to their heart. Look at how he talks to Nicodemus in John 3 and the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4. With Nicodemus, it is he who approaches Jesus, not the other way round, and I presume that there has been interaction between them before, as both seem to know each other. WIth the lady at the well, Jesus just treats her with dignity, something that no one else does (she is alone at the well, at the wrong time of the day, as the "good" women don't mix with her) and doesn't corner her with theology. She knows something about Judaism, due to her Samaritan beliefs and tries to fend him off with questions meant to deflect the "heat" from herself, but he doesn't try to one-up her. He just continues to treat her with dignity until it is she who realises who he is and tells others. I like relationships. It is rarely that I would seek out a stranger specifically to tell them. I would prefer to be around long enough that we could feel comfortable enough with each other to be able to talk.

firebrand and singwell have it right... trying to convert some one will never happen. they just need to learn on their own. sharing knowledge would be fine so to answer your question I would talk about the "Plan of Salvation" Look it up if you like its an LDS (Mormon) teaching. Thats all, but I know for a fact religion questions on here get flamed if you show one side or the other in belief.

Conversion is personal decision. I would inform and share with you what I know from the Bible but the choice is all yours.

I never try to convert anyone from their present beliefs. We each have the freedom to make our own decisions about what to believe. I will always answer those who ask questions, but at the end of the day, it is for each of us to choose in what we shall believe. No-one is right and no-one is wrong in their answers; you just get the conclusions arrived at by the individual. Consider for a while, why it is that most people have the same beliefs as their parents or peers when it comes to choosing religion.

People are free to convert, but I can't convert anyone, that's something you do for yourself. Atheism is what makes sense to me, and I could tell you my reasons for believing as I do, but trying to "Convert" someone to atheism would usually involve stating that it's the "Right" way to believe, and I refuse to do that. I don't believe in a God, and I don't feel that I need one. But that's just me, other people have every right to hold whatever beliefs they will, and I have no right to try to change that. It's all a matter of what makes you happiest and what's "Best" to believe for you, and trying to convert others to your faith, an act that by it's very nature involves a massive level of disrespect for their common sense and ability to form their own perceptions of existence, is wrong.

i would never try to "covert" anyone, but my advice on religion is this: investigate truth(s) and follow your heart. The heart knows more than the head.

Religion is a shared system of personal beliefs. "Religion - a system of thought, feeling, and action that is shared by a group and that gives the members an object of devotion; a code of behavior by which individuals may judge the personal and social consequences of their actions; and a frame of reference by which individuals may relate to their group and their universe. Usually, religion concerns itself with that which transcends the known, the natural, or the expected; it is an acknowledgment of the extraordinary, the mysterious, and the supernatural." http://www.reference.com/search?q=religion A religion is a set of beliefs and practices generally held by a community, involving adherence to codified beliefs and rituals and study of ancestral or cultural traditions, writings, history, and mythology, as well as personal faith and mystic experience. The term "religion" refers to both the personal practices related to communal faith and to group rituals and communication stemming from shared conviction. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion No one should try to interfere with it and try to convert some one. If you have seen a program on African animals in any TV channel, you must have observed that all of one species look alike, in shape and size. But, variety is the spice of life for man. We are as different as our finger prints. Since man has mind, which distinguishes him from the rest of creation, he always tries a different approach for the same aim. But, we all know that all rivers join the same ocean. In the same way, all spiritual efforts finally provide the realization of one Almighty who is Omnipresent.
