Have you tried the new Apple browser (Safari)? If so, what's your opinion of it's
performance? There's a free download at the Apple website.

The Safari has been here for years, but the performance is poor in my Mac. It was already a freeware at Versiontracker.com for a while as well. The performance is slow, and may freeze as well. That's why I use Firefox from now on.

Not bad - however I don't like the fact the Apple 'applications' that make it to the Windows World still have the UI you'd only really see on a Mac. I guess the 'skin' is something I'm not too fond of, on a Mac, it fits because everything is similar but under windows the app looks out of place.

I've tried it and it didn't live up to Apple's claim that it's faster than Firefox. I also didn't like it visually. I've uninstalled it.
