You're just opening your eyes. Good people don't always get what they deserve - nor do bad people. Whatever good and bad are, anyways. As for God, welcome to the real world. As for luck, well... that's nothing but condience, so.

Maybe this is Gods way of testing you, really trying to push you buttons... to see how truly loyal you are

Personally, I do not believe in luck. I also do not believe in fairness and equality... both are nice concepts with no real life application. Bad things happen to good people, good things happen to bad. I am sorry that you no longer feel God in your heart. I hope this phase passes for you since you miss it.

I have long felt that the Universe is governed more by Murphy's Law than the Hand of God. The key is to find joy and humor in our absurd interactions with a chaotic, perverse and uncaring Universe. As for how to live in such a Universe, I find the advice of Josh Whedon (with help from Leo Tolstoy) useful. Since there is no Bigger Plan and nothing that we do matters in the long run, then the only thing that matters is what we do. In a chaotic, perverse uncaring Universe, the smallest act of kindness is the greatest thing anyone can do.

Faith in God is not a feeling. It's a trust that He is in control of your life, and has a plan for your future. Read the Psalms, you sound a lot like David did when he wrote those. Wondering why bad things happen to good people and vice versa. Maybe read Job also. Questioned God and His purpose and care just the same. "Luck" doesn't exist. Everything that happens in your life, happens for a reason. Everything has a purpose. It's up to you to trust in God - even at times you don't feel Him - during those times, to help you through. See what you can learn from the circustances, how you can grow through the hardship, how your experiences can later on help other people, or how God can be glorified.

There is a famous cartoon of Hagar the Horrible where he is holding his fist to heaven and screaming "Why me?" In the next picture, a voice from heaven shouts back "WHy not?" Without going too deeply into the theology of Hagar, there is a sense where we should ask ourselves "Why not?" when bad things happen. An evangelist friend said it in this way: "This world is like a room where bullets are flying round. It is inevitable that someone is going to get hit. No one knows exactly who fired each bullet, so we are all responsible." I think that we have to accept that bad things are going to happen, no matter how good or how bad we are. I am a pastor's wife. Am I exempt from suffering? No. In the past 15 years, I have lost two parents, had a nervous breakdown, had a miscarriage, been in a horrific car accident and been struck with Chronic Fatigue. Five years ago, my elder daughter was diagnosed with an enormous brain tumour. We almost lost her. I remember standing beside her bed and crying to God, "You can't take her away from me" and hearing him say clearly "Yes, I can." And I had to acknowledge that yes, he could. So I did, but I added, "...but please don't." He didn't, but that doesn't change the fact that I have to acknowledge who He is and see suffering through His eyes, not mine. The world is not a nice place. It was once, but human disobedience destroyed all the perfect connections, between God and humanity, between humans and each other, and between humans and the created world. Jesus came to heal the rift between God and humans, by dying on the cross and rising from the dead. One day he will return and wipe away all tears. Until then, he says "In this world, you will have trouble. But be encouraged. I have overcome the world." (John 16:33) Be encouraged, little one. You were bought at great price. It is not in the suffering that the triumph is shown, but how we get through it. He hasn't left you, even if you don't feel Him there. He promised he never would. When it seems worse, just say those words "I am with you always, to the very end of the age" (matthew 28:20) If you would like to talk about it more, feel free to contact me at susan@webpastor.com.

I heard once from a really wise man that god is hardest on the stronger ones. I really did not think that was fair, because I was going through a bad time. I am still going through a lot of bad times, but I learned that this is the really world. We are all having a really hard time. I know it is hard, but please keep the faith. You are not alone.

Maybe... just MAYBE... there is NO GOD? Maybe you are gullible, foolish, or prone to poor decisions? Believe me when I tell you.... YOU are the ONLY ONE who can make your life better. Appreciate every breath, every person you cherish, every person you despise, because life is too short. Maybe... just maybe ... You are already in heaven and nothing better awaits you.

I know exactely how you feel, I swear I have been cursed with continual bad luck for the last 6 years straight..I've thought of everything, does God hate me? Maybe I was put on this earth by mistake and he is trying to take me off it again? Is he testing me? Maybe he doesn't exsist and I just need to break free of bad situations and live my own life the way I want to its so confusing! I am having great doubts about the testing thing because I always pray to Him and tell him that I understand he's testing me and wants to teach me a lesson and beg him to stop but he never does, I think after 6 years of torture he would understand that I GET IT and stop! So I dunno I've been going through a major faith crisis too and I don't feel him anymore either and I just wish I knew the truth about the universe so I would know what to do next!

When you make a cake, some of the ingredients are pretty awful all by themselves (flour, baking soda) but when the cake is all together, it is wonderful. Our lives are like that. God puts them together by His own recipe and some of the parts are awful, but we have to trust Him that when it is all put together, it will be wonderful. God Bless you and keep the faith.

do you have good physical health? have you seen the way people live in war-torn countries? take a step back and learn to be thankful for all that you have, and never class yourself as unlucky
