My Husband cried when he knew he was dieing , he was apologising because he was going to leave me alone. That really hurt because even at that time he was only thinking of me.

It hurts me the most when I have caused it and even more so if I cannot fix it. I will do just about anything to assuage that hurt.

My step-uncle's three-year-old daughter's when they locked her in a pen and ignored her. It reminded me of when I was little. You don't just fucking lock your daughter in a pen when you get tired of her. OR ignore her when she cries because she feels forgotten and just banged her hand on something. Stupid bastards...

A six year old girl in Bali was horrifically burned in a cooking oil accident. I met up with her 3 months afterwards. She had just been operated on to open up her leg that had been fused closed. It was 34 deg C and she had no aircon, and was in terrible pain and discomfort. I could hardly stand watching her. It was heartwrenching. Listening to her sobs die down as she took in the toy I gave her was some comfort, but knowing the uphill battle she had and the poverty of her family just broke my heart and still does. But, thank God, friends with me that day took her case on, paid off her parents' debts and we have got her back to as good health as we can until the next operation. But I will never forget those cries. Never.
