Is someone who practices Wicca a Wiccan or Witch?

You do not have to practice Wicca to be Wiccan, only agree to the beliefs (very different than agreeing with the beliefs of an Abrahamic religion) and self-identify as a Wiccan. In fact, you will be counted as a Wiccan on sociological studies and censuses if you simply self-identify as Wiccan. Anyone who practices Wicca is a Wiccan. One must practice magic to be a Witch. This is where the debate comes in. Many believe that simply casting a circle and calling on the deities and elements is practicing magic; therefore, all Wiccans practice magic. Others disagree and say that not all Wiccans practice magic. Certainly, not all Witches are Wiccans. A Witch is merely a practitioner of magic. Wicca is about THEOLOGY.

witch , pagan , wiccan ... a very debated question . but to sum it up most will agree , a witch is someone who practices magic, a pagan honors or worships nature deities , a wiccan does both . and ..... by the way , a male witch is a witch . warlock just sounded cooler in the movies . look it up , it actually means oath breaker . so please dont call male witches warlocks . more info .... no witches were burned at the steak in salam . the were all hung , died in prison , and one male witch was pressed to death . also 2 dogs were killed . . most likely none were witchs . it was a mass panic that was caused by rye poisoning . . and we do not worship the devil , he is from " their " story book . and one of "their" boys . that would be like coke woshiping diet pepsi . ;-) hope this helps . bleesed be bastbuy . hope this helps
