My mom. To me, she's everything I aspire to be in my own children's eyes.

I have a few people that fit that bill. I have a couple of really close friends that I really admire. They are wonderful ladies who I respect and love. I have learned so much from both of them. They have helped to make me a better person. One I have known for years the other is a new friend; but, both have been positive influences on me. I love them both dearly. The other biggest role models are my dad and my aunt. I don't know what I would have done with out the two of them. I love them both for being there for me, no matter what. I am who I am today largely because of their influence in my life. Things could have been a lot different for me otherwise.

The person who most fits that description for me is my Zen teacher. She is a remarkable person: lively, intelligent, strong, witty, wise, compassionate and fearless. I've never actually known anyone else quite like her. She continues to surprise me year after year with seemingly limitless depth; I've given up thinking I will ever have her "figured out". And in recent years, I've become better at recognizing the special gifts of other people too -- some people are remarkably witty, or gracious, or generous, etc., and I'm much more attuned to seeing these qualities on others than I used to be. So now I have quite a few role models in specific domains. Some of them are 'baggers! :)
