Do you mean is it possible to have autism that is not severe? Yes. Autism varies greatly in severity, and there is also Asperger's syndrome, which is basically a very mild form of autism. People with Asperger's however, can go about their life quite normally and quite independently. Since it was only recognized as a disorder in the 90's, some people who are 30 or 40 are just being diagnosed with it today.

Yes, there are degrees of autism, meaning that some people are much harder to distinguish as autistic than others ie they communicate, but it is the way they communicate that sends out signals that something is amiss.
