I've heard its not as bad you you might think, if you have some experience with large kites or say wake boarding its not a big deal. wake boarding is much harder to get up, because the kite will actually help pull you up out of the water. Remember that the kite is actually tethered to your waist not you pulling it with your arms :) I recently went snowkiting for the first time and it was awesome! kite surfing isn't far behind.
