A lease or an electric bill will suffice if you must show proof of residency.

A government issued i.d. w/ the address on it is usually what is required.

Your voting address is the best indication. The address on your voter registration can be used as proof of residence. Utility bills that are in your name and use that address can also be used. I've heard that bank statements in your name with that address are also good.

This often depends on who you need to prove it to. Your best proof is your paycheck stub showing where your employer is located. Your next best proof is probably voter registration records. Utility records are of little use in proving primary residence since you will have records for both residences. However, if you have all your bills (for both residences) sent to one address, this could be a good proof.
