  • I try to be everyday!
  • When it comes to animals running loose in the street yes. I have risked my own personal safety for many a dog.
  • Yup. Once, like a year ago, this chick was outside the local blockbuster with her dog and boyfriend with a homeless person's sign. It was like the second or third time I had seen her so I asked what her story was. She said she had been in Wilmington since Thanksgiving (it was like the first week of December) and was stranded with no money because her car broke down. So, I went to the grocery store behind the Blockbuster and got a cheap bag of dog food, a couple packs of lunchmeat for $1, a loaf of bread, a couple gallons of water, and a toothbrush for her. I didn't know if she was telling the truth or not, but it seemed likely at the time. I ended up feeling really good about myself afterward.
  • Always.
  • Last winter I stopped to help some people in a minivan that was pulled off to the side of the road. There was about 6 inches of snow on the ground and their sliding door had fallen off. It was an older couple (mid 50's or so) and their daughter (I think). They were struggling with the door, trying to get it back in place again. I went over and helped them pop the door back into the sliding track. They were so happy! The daughter asked if I wanted anything, like a beer! I just laughed and declined. Nothing warms you up on a cold winter day like helping someone.
  • if i feel safe in the situation i will help as much as needeed
  • Usually I try to be a better Moabite or Edomite.
  • One instance comes to mind - I was walking to work and a homeless person fell down in front of me, having a seizure right on the pedestrian crossing. It was raining and I knelt over him holding my umbrella over his head until the police and ambulance arrived. A co-worker walked by during this and I asked him to tell my boss that I would be a little late showing up for work that day.
  • Yes I have, though I don't think that makes me good. We are all responsible for one another.
  • I hope so. My life will have been wasted if I haven't managed to be that at least a couple of times.
