  • Maybe because some do.
  • Because some people think that when you don't believe what they do, you automatically hate what they believe in. Maybe because some people think that by asserting your views that directly contradict theirs, it logically must be driven by hate.
  • I'm a Christian; I believe everyone has a peace of the truth. When people don't research, they just make assumptions, the people you are talking about may just assume that, and maybe some atheists do hate anything to do with religion. It is all about learning about what you are curious about instead of making assumptions. Hope this helps.
  • Some of the Atheist have gone out of their way to be extremely offensive/rude/crude towards Christians. I know that many are not like that, just like there are the Christians who go above and beyond to the point of irratation, there are the few Atheist who like to inflame Christians. There are always going to be one or two bad apples in a bunch. We need to look beyond the bad ones and see only the good ones. In His service, <:))))<>< "My salvation and my honor depend on God; He is my mighty rock, my refuge." Psalm 62:7
  • Most atheists do not hate everything to do with religion..they simply do not believe in it..thats not hate
  • Not sure, a more pertinent question might be: Why have people who believe in a God caused the death of millions of people throughout Human history?
  • Because of people's ignorance. I dont think they hate religion I just think they hate it when people try to shove it down their throats.
  • The only thing I hate about religion is when people try to force me to believe in something I don't...Or when people judge me for my lack of religion. I don't judge your beliefs, don't judge mine.
  • I enjoy discussing religion. It is fascinating to me. I have many discussions with religious people. I do not hate "anything to do with religion" and I am not rude to religious people. I am not even rude to the ones who are rude to me. I just choose to not speak with them.
  • I am an atheist AND I think organised religion is a sham. Religion is a waste of time and is the reason MOST wars are fought. No religions does not necessarily equal no wars, but it would be close.
  • I don't know. Why?
  • That's a stereotype... in which I fit.
  • Ignorance. People believe that atheists are "God haters" and religion haters, when, in fact they just don't believe in the existence of God (so they can't hate him/her/it). Most atheists, however, do not try to force their point of view on others and are tolerant of other people right to their beliefs!
  • They don't understand that being an atheist and being anti-religious are not the same thing. Not all atheists are anti-religious. I am anti-religious, but it's not because I'm an atheist.
  • because of the few that act like jerks. people have not yet learned to judge the individual rather than the group.
  • I think people think atheist hate everything to do with religion because many theists are not used to having their religious beliefs challenged.
  • Argument #67, Christians argue the existence of god based on Atheists hatred: ARGUMENT FROM HATE (1) Some atheists hate Christians and Christianity. (2) That's why they don't believe in God. (3) Pathetic, aren't they? (4) Therefore, God exists. http://www.godlessgeeks.com/LINKS/GodProof.htm
  • Probably for the same reasons people think all Christians are anti-everything intolerant nuts. A few people with questionable authority at best go out and ruin it for everyone by shooting off their mouths. If you put fifty atheists in a room all it takes is one really loud anti-religion person to make the room sound like a jerk convention.
  • Disagreement is often mistaken for hate. Especially in politics and religion.
