Macs can play AVIs just fine. A few things first though. Bittorent is just the way you get the files, so it really doesn't have anything to do with playback problems. You need to find out what type of AVI it is, since AVI is a container format for many types: xvid, divx, etc. Once you know what you have, you can find the codec to allow for playback. Or you could just install stuff that plays the most common AVI file types and hope it works. Either way, this link should help. http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/avidivx.html Gspot (yes, silly name) on the PC does a great job of telling you what type of file you have. Unfortunately, I couldn't quickly find something like gspot for Mac. I would just download VLC and see if that works, it plays most anything. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

I think you main problem would be the Divx and Xvid format as i know that windows don't have these not sure about mac. My favorite media player that playes most formats exept form quiketime (well to a good standard) is VCL. Haven't got a mac so i don't know what or how well it works, but you could try this mac version. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html
