Why indeed.
-
Because we love the people who asked them, and get their humor. Hell half my points are from that! Bacon anyone?
-
Because people have different ideas about what's good and bad, basically. What you might see as trash, others might see as funny. You never know.
-
I think it's probably because so many people have something to say about that subject. Who knows. Jodie is right, what's rubbish to one is clever or insightful to another.

rubbish questions indeed!!

Firstly, I think what one person may deem as rubbish another person may not deem as rubbish, it is a highly subjective topic! But I can see your point, and think that some 'popular' type questions get a lot of points because they get a lot of answers. Sometimes the harder or more factual questions don't get many answers, and as such, less points. If a factual question has a correct answer already, I won't bother to answer as well and repeat the info unless I can add something. If they get less responses, they also drop out of view, so less people get the chance to give the question points unless they are searching for it.

Because those are the fun ones. And sometimes you just gotta have some fun.

I do not see too many questions that require factual answers any more and once a person has given a correct answer any others are considered superfluous. The Fluff questions do get lots of answers because we all have different opinions on a subject. That does not mean that the question is rubbish. Maybe to some people it seems that way but if people enjoy them, who is to say they are rubbish. Some of course will DR whatever your reply or question while smiling at you (metaphorically speaking) so it is not always those you think have given a good reply that is marking you well.
