91 cavalier 4cyl the engine speeds up and slows down at idle, why?

    could be time for a tune up. When where the last time the spark plugs and cap and rotor were changed? It may be missing at idle, causing the rpm to dip up and down

    Possibly a vacuum leak, listen for hissing under the hood.
