i'd say at least 97% of them a scams good luck finding that three percent
Because they are scams! No real job is going to make you pay upfront...
Quite seriously, it doesn't exist except in phoney promises. by taxigringo
I believe the only legit ones are the ones where the guys pay 1.99 a minute to watch you get naked on cam.
To the best of my knowlege, I do not think there exists a legitimate work-at-home data job.
However, some jobs that might be legitimate that are usually work-at-home are medical transcriptionists.
These people can work-at-home, in some cases. The pay seems good. Although, I cannot recommend any because I have never applied for this type of work.
However, medical transcriptionists basically type of doctor's data and instructions into a computer and it's a hard job because you have to be familliar with medical terminology.
If you're a natural at typing, and are good at remembering difficult vocab works that are found in medicine, then you might wish to look into becoming a medical transcriptionist.
The best advice is to go to your local career center or commercial college and ask the appropriate personnel there about becoming a medical transcriptionist, if that job suits you well.
If it doesn't, then you can always ask them about jobs that allow you to work-at-home and that are data-related jobs.
I hope this helps as I can't recommend any at-home jobs because so many out there are scams, so my best advice, to review, is to go to your local commerical college or career center or even a local university and ask them about jobs that are legitimate and allow you to work at-home.
I hope this helps to answer your question and good luck with your career!

Go to guru.com and getafreelancer.com for job listings. I do transcription of various job projects that are posted on these sites using Express Scribe transcription software. You can download Express Scribe for free from nch.com. Data entry jobs are also listed.
You will for the most part find data entry type jobs on freelance bidding sites. However, they are really not worth it because companies overseas bid extremely low on these projects and always win the bids.
Once in a great while you may find a job in craigs list for some transcription work but really that's about it.
If you want to earn an income from home you either need to source out some products wholesale, locally, or sell another companies products. You could also go the route of developing a website/blog and building some substantial traffic to it and then sell advertising / products. It takes a lot of work either way and as the old adage goes ... it takes money to make money.
probably nowhere, but if you send me a $50 processing fee, I can find you some job leads!!
