Do you only get to heaven by being a christian attending church every week, or can you get there by living a good life and prayers at home? How do you feel?

You get in by accepting Jesus Christ as your Saviour. You don't have to do anything special.

I like to tell myself that all decently good people go to heaven, no matter what. Sometimes I'm afraid that I am wrong and think that only people who have faith go to heaven.

As you may know already, The Apostle Paul(who wrote a lot of the new Testament)says that God does not live in temples built by human hands(see Acts Chap 17). It would seem to me that clearifies your question.In the same chapter Paul indicates that God does not need anything even when men seem to think he does.Elsewhere in the Bible it indicates Salvation is a free gift.However, Jesus in the Gospels is walking arounding saying Change you mind Change your mind about the way people were living their lives. This indicates to me that if someone is a Christian they would be different than the rest of worldly society.However, Paul says even after all he'd been thru he (Paul) didnt claim to have accomplished anything and again emphasises Salvation by Grace(free gift)thru Faith.So I would say that it is possible what you are describing. Doesn't the Bible say "Come to me as you are."? I think this means that god wants us to come to him as we are, just live a good life, and believe in god, if not I'm surly going to hell.

it's simple to get into heaven. Just accept Christ as your savior. When you have doubts, thats Satan trying to invade your mind and stop you from entering heaven.

Jesus says i am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the father but through me. So what you need to do is accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour and ask him to forgive your sins. You dont have to go to a church to make heaven your home but it does help. Ive been saved almost 4 years now and the church i attend is an awesome comfort to me, I am guided and kept alive in spirit by Gods word spoken to me through the pastor. Like i said you dont need to attend a church but i dont think i would have been saved this long if it was not for the fellowship and support of the church i attend. What you need to do is develop a relationship with God through his word in the bible and prayer. He loves you very much and wants to welcome you through the gates of heaven.
