My parents never lied to us about stuff like that. We knew they were just symbols and myths, nothing more.

... and yes, that includes Jesus too.

5 or 6. But my mom thought I believed in Santa until about 8. I kind of tried to fool her into believing that I still believed so she couldn't make any excuses when I asked Santa for a gift.

Curiosity didnt kill the cat. I did.

i was brought up knowing from the beginning that santa claus/easter bunny weren't real. my mom taught me from the beginnning that they are just stories to make the holiday more fun, but would then explain the real reason to the holiday, her christian reason. my dad had no part (hes jewish).

To me Santa will always will be real. The tooth fairy I could take or leave; probably real. Actually when I was 10 my mom flat out and told me Santa wasn't real. I was devastated, I was so mad I went and told my little brother and made my mom so mad at me. It was a horrible truth.

I learned that Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy were my parents the day I started growing my white beard, my fluffy tail, and my wings. I thought... What a genetic quirk that these three different beings (one not even human) could reproduce to create me.

But, I've learned to control my urges to pay people for their teeth, bring candy and eggs to people's homes and hide them everywhere, and to try to sneak down people's chimneys. It's a hard life, but I accept my fate.

My parents were kind enough never to lie to us about those things. They encouraged us to not bust our friends' bubbles, but not to lie to them about it, either.

What you talkin bout Willis? No Santa? Tooth fairy? The Easter Bunny? They will live on...I will keep them alive as long as I breath. It is magical to see kids when they think something special happens just because. Those things are a part of our heratige, our lives. Why take all the fun out of childhood?
And Jesus is not a fairy tale..What does it hurt to believe in Goodness? And none of the things named here are bad or corrupt.

I never really believed in the Easter bunny. But I must've been about 9 years old when I figured out about Santa, I was not amused to say the least. The tooth fairy thing closely followed.

What are you guys talking about? You better watch saying such things are you will get a one way ticket to the Naughty list. You know the Easter Bunny is crazy as hell. He is always hiding my basket. Don't get me started on the Tooth Fairy... I guess I won't see here again until my permanent teeth start falling out. How does that work anyway? Are they worth more than baby teeth?

What!?!?!? Did Santa finally come out of the closet? I always thought the tooth fairy was gay. Why else would he call himself "fairy". I don't know how the Easter Bunny got mixed up with them.... (Not that there's anything wrong with that)

I don't remember when I stopped believing in them. I was probably 9 or 10. I don't see how Santa could exist, and same goes for the tooth fairy.

But I still believe in the Easter Bunny! :)

  • Those things were rare at my house anyway, but I'd have to say 6 for the toothfairy, mabe 4 for Santa Claus. The easter bunny was VERY real to me for some reason until I was about 10,because I was facinated with talking animals and wanted them to be real! LOL! :D *+++++*

You're reading How old were you when you found out "the truth" about Santa, the Easter Bunny, Tooth Fairy, etc? - which can also be phrased in the following ways:

  • How old were you when you learned that Santa Claus, the Easter Rabbit and the Tooth Fairy were really your parents?
  • How old were you when you stopped believing in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny? Or do you still? I found out when I was 7 because for some reason on Christmas Eve I had to get up from bed and it was only 7:30 PM and my gifts were already under the tree.
  • What age where you when you found out about Santa? (keeping in mind wee kids might be on this)
