YES!!!!!
-
yes please
-
yes I don't think it is any worse then alcohol
-
YES!
-
one million no
-
Yes,and keep the quality of it the same as it is now.I have heard that medical marijuana is of very low quality and has less THC thus defeating the reason to smoke it.
-
I'm a yes...but not because I'm a smoker. Lots of money wasted enforcing silly laws and imprisoning folks for minor violations. Let the govt run it and tax it like cigs. Makes more sense economically. Sorry Scifisuz, I stold your answer!
-
Yes, even though I'm not a consumer. We'd save a LOT of money on enforcement, and can raise revenue by taxing it. Sure its consumption would go up, but the current reduction is very expensive.
-
yes. TOo many resources used on trying to get rid of it and users that should be spent on other things that are much worse.
-
Yes.
-
Yes not that there will ever be one.
-
I would vote in favor. -Our jails are overflowing. -Someone is arrested for pot every 45 seconds. -It kills fewer people than alcohol, which is legal. -Overdosing is very rare and does not lead to death. Alcohol poisoning can.
-
I don't care...one way or the other. I don't use it. But I cannot understand how tobacco can be legal and maijuana not...so I'd have to say go ahead and legalize it and control its production.
-
I say yes, face it its not goin anywhere. No harsh side effects other than what cigarettes can do. I say yes, then lets celebrate with a nice ounce.
-
No. Decriminalize it, don't legalize.
-
yes' yes'
-
I say No, just because there will be even more idiots driving out there high.
-
Yep :-)
-
Yes
-
Why not ? Tobacco is legal, and it's worse than marijuana ...
-
yes legalize and EDUCATE
-
Darn, I posted in here already and my comment didn't show up. I hate that. It's never the same the second time around :(. My vote would be yes. I wonder why people are so misinformed and uneducated about drugs, in general but everyone seems to have such a strong opinion on it. Replying to one of the posters here, the legalizing pot will not increase the consumption no higher than it is because it is already easily obtainable (you can get pot even in prison!). What would happen if we legalized pot (any drugs for that matter) is crimes relating to drugs would decrease and death rate from drugs will also decrease because the drugs would be purer. The drugs itself doesn't make you do bad things, it's the people that do bad things. Alcohol was once illegal too and people did not get arrested for drinking alcohol, people got arrested for what they had to do to get alcohol. Billions of dollars are spent on War on Drugs and the number of users or abusers have not decreased nor has the crimes related to drugs. There is no record of death occuring from use of marijuana, alone. NONE!
-
Yes. For the record, I have'nt used in over 20 years yo...
-
Yes absolutely.
-
No way!
-
Yeah, whatever. Pass the Cheetos, man.
-
I'd vote yes if it replaced cigarettes. It's better for you then those damn things.
-
Yes, of course, yes:)
-
no, i have kids 10 years ago no
-
NO.
-
Not a chance.
-
I am against recreational drug use... I do not drink alchohol or even coffee. that being said, if you are in your own house and have no kids I don't care if you are doing PCP. in what way is marijuanna worse than alchohol? I am against all self preservation laws, this includes the helmet/seatbelt laws, suiside intervention. keep your laws off my body. unless you are hurting a bystander then there is no grounds for illegality.
-
absolutely ..yes!!, being a weed smoker for over 42 years I have seen and heard all the bullshit and its just that bullshit! about reasons against it ..so yes yes yes!!
-
FUCK YEAH. Pots illegal.. while alcohol (which is worse then pot) is legal... LIKE WTF
-
No. In fact I wish they would outlaw smoking in public, second hand smoke not only smells bad, but it also is more harmful for the people standing around a smoker than the cigarette is for the smoker.
-
Well, I don't smoke pot so this issue doesn't affect me directly, but I would have to say yes. Alcohol is worse, and yet it is regulated and taxed by the government. Think about all the untaxed "transactions" if you will, that could be going to pay for schools and roads and health care and the like. Also, what about all the people in jail because of having marijuana? Putting those people in jail is expensive. Wouldn't we be better off putting more rapists and murderers and violent offenders in jail than people who want to sit on their couch and get high? And, how effective is making it illegal, anyway? It's easy to get. It's not really stopping people who want to smoke pot from smoking pot. I think the resources of our government could be put to better use, like improving the school system.
-
Even though I've never tried it, I would vote yes. I'm not big on legislating "morality." Plus, like other people have mentioned, there's the tax revenue. It would probably even be subject to a vice tax.
-
No
-
Sure. Let them smoke all they want. Meanwhile the rest of us will live productive lives.

Yes.
-
YES!
-
yes
-
yes... maybe still illegal for sale because i would hate to see it taxed but for personal growth and consumption yes... otherwise go all the way and make it a cash crop... either way it would be better if de-criminalized whether legal for sale or not
-
It should be legalized and regulated. This would wipe out a source of revenue for drug pushers.
-
Yes
-
of course. i challenge ANYONE to make a good argument as to why it should STAY illegal.
-
Absolutely. There is no reason it should be illegal. Prohibition on Alcohol didn't work. Prohibition on Marijuana certainly isn't working.
-
Yes please!!
-
Nope
-
Yes, I'd vote to legalize it. I rarely use it, but if it were legal, (and regulated,) many more people would benefit from its practical and medicinal uses.
-
Yes - Follow the Dutch lead - (and increase restrictions on tobacco smoking)
-
Yes.
-
yes

FUCK YEAH!!!
-

No.
-
yes
-
It should be legal anyway so yes, but I don't smoke now, but still yes.
-
Yes, it's no worse than alcohol. Plus then we could get hemp stuff that would give farmers another cash crop to use. More competition is almost always good for society as a whole.
-
NO. i hate drugs!
-
No. Primarily because of the recent studies linking marijuana use with mental health problems. http://www.mediacampaign.org/newsroom/factsheets/marij_mhealth.html
-
No.
-
no
-
Yes, then the people can decide. People use cannabis anyway. There's just a profitable black market because of it being illegal.
-
no but only because I'd want to legalize all drugs- it's not the government's job to protect us from ourselves!
-
No.
-
Yes. I think it should be taxed in the same way as booze.
-
Yes, I think there are way bigger issues out there the cops need to be worrying about!!! Make it like alcohol, If you are under the influence and driving then you should be arrested!!! But if you are a pot head and you want to smoke your pot at home eat all the food in your house, I say more power to you!!!
-
I don't smoke it myself, but I'd vote to legalise it. I don't see why not, people are going to do it regardless.
-
no
-
Legalising - NO Decriminalising - YES
-
no
-
You ask the question yes or no for a poll and because I say no I get -5 marks. There's democracy in action...... I have watched a relative go from an upstanding member of society to a worthless bum because of skunk marijuana so I see the negative side of a drug, that being said in moderation I can see it assist a multitude of aged related ailments.
-
I'd vote yes:)
-
my answer is YES!
-
Yes, I have smoked marijuana before and can recognize it's benefits, the only reason I do not currently use Marijuana is the fact that I do not want to be criminal, and I know you've heard it before but, I believe that marijuana a should be legalized with the same restrictions of alcohol because of the shear facts: 1. There are on average 85,000 annual reported deaths due to alcohol abuse. 2. There are on average 435,000 annual reported deaths due to tobacco use. 3. But there are 0 reported deaths do to the use of Marijuana, and far less reported crimes while under the influence of marijuana (Cultivation, Distribution, and Possession of Marijuana excluded), when compared to reported crimes while under the influence of alcohol. 4. At age 17 it is legal to join the Armed Forces to fight and possibly die for the rights of the people in the US, rights you don't even have yet like the right to smoke tobacco or drink alcohol. Also, it is my personal opinion that if current and/or potential drugs users could obtain a recreational high from a legal substance (i.e. Marijuana), they would be less likely to seek out and use an illegal and more damaging substance to obtain the aforementioned high. Therefore I believe we would see a significant drop in other illicit drug use.
-
