  • It's not the iPod which is doing this, it's your mind. You should understand that "random" does in fact mean that in the short run, some songs will most likely be played more often than others. If a human person were to play your songs, it would most likely make sure that all songs are being played at least once. The iPod doesn't use the information of which songs have played: Each time it choses a new song to play, all songs have the same likelyhood of being chosen. This can lead to the same song being played a lot more often than other songs.
