well its purpose was good, it seems to me that promoting or hiring solely because of race, does nothing towards racial equality. you can put $10k rims on a 200 dollar car, its still a 200$ car.. Affirmative action onlygives the "appearance" of racial equality..

Horrible when it prevents companies from hiring more-qualified candidates because they need more minorities to keep their percentages up. Same goes for schools.

G'day Mikey Mike, Thank you for your question. It depends what you mean by affirmative action. If you mean training people to take on new positions and other forms of encouragement, that is a positive. If you are talking about quotas where it seems that someone gets a position by ticking the right boxes, it is a negative. Regards

I think it's stupid. Affirmative action fights discrimination with discrimination, and it's unnecessary at this point in time.

It's one small step towards justice. More needs to be done.
