Do you ever take the time to figure out why you were marked down, instead of always taking offense to it?

Absolutely. But unfortunately, most of the downratings come without comment, so there really is no way to see if you are being trolled, or if someone truly does not agree that your answer is useful.

Sometime I have to really figure out. Most of the time I don't feel like I deserve it, but sometimes maybe.

The only thing I wonder about is, on an opinion site, why anyone is marked down. We are not experts, (or most of us aren't), and when we answer, we are just trying to help someone thru our own life experiences. I think that you should only mark down rude, offensive answers that were never intended to help, (such as the ones like the person who liked to draw sexual pictures, using type-keys).
