Question

Help answer this question below.

I'm looking at buying a used 2006, 4 stroke, 1 cylinder 150cc Roketa Sicily Scooter. Owner reports recent loss of power. Will this be expensive to fix, what causes loss of power?

spend 50-100 bucks and get it checked out before buying a money sink.

Ignition, Compression & Carburation are the 3 "Ingredients" to make an engine run. This engine could be lacking Compression from Bad Valves,Worn Rings & only be a Week Old!!! A Bad,Dirty or even Missing Air Filter can ruin an engine this quick!!! Check to see the "Valve Clearance" is set right & if not Adjust them. Then make a Compression test. Check the Oil for particles & if it was just changed to "Cover Up" having been run without Oil! If these look good, then a Carb Job or Ignition work (Tune Up) should restore performance at rather low cost. John

Hmm... Not familiar with the model, Tracking down a loss of power is often annoying. It's 2006, so you shouldn't have much wear and tear on it. Firstly, do an electrics check: check to make sure the battery and alternator are fully functional, then the rectifier and regulator.

If these all check out, it might be an air-filter thing. Does it idle rough? Probably air filter, dirty spark plug or carby/injectors.

Is it high end power loss? You might have a problem with the ignitor retarding/advancement unit.

Expensive, probably not, tricky to find, probably.

could be a lot of things. bad spark plug. weak coil. clutch is going out. stator might be going out also. If I were you I would spend the extra money and buy a yamaha or honda..better scooter and less problems too. Just my opinion. good luck on whatever you buy.
