I think I would. Kids are a joy; we all are going to die of SOMETHING; I'd have kids if I DIDN'T know about a 50/50 chance of whatever. What difference does the knowing make? There's also the 50/50 chance they'll be fine - and again, we're all going to die of SOMETHING. The human mortality rate is 100 percent.

No. I'd adopt. That's most likely what I will do, should my partner and I decide to have children.

Depends on what it is. Is it something dibilatating and painful or just an annoyance? Dibilatating and painfull, no. An annoyance, yes. Jay and I still had Gavin with the chance he could have or could pass on diabities. But then again he was a "Surprise, the birth control failed" baby and neither of us believe in abortion.

yup, because even if your healthy you have a chance of things going wrong and just because your child is different doesn't mean their life isn't going to be filled with love and happiness. My DS1 was born with a hypospadias/chordee (1 in 100 chance to happen) and required 2 surgeries to fix it and 5 dilations to fix the stricture the repairs caused and undergoes daily caths to keep his urethra open, he also has diabetes (type 1) he was dxed at 5yrs, PDD-NOS, and weak immune system. DS2 has cerebral palsy (caused by an idiot nurse and doctor), severe reoccurring inflammation of the lung with asthma like symptoms (basically chronic respiratory failure), weak immune system and possible seizure disorder. Our "oops" baby DS3 is perfectly healthy! Both of us are healthy and have pretty healthy families and we still ended up with two special needs children. Just because your healthy doesn't mean your going to have healthy kids and just because you have something wrong doesn't mean you'll have a kid with something wrong. But no matter how your kids turn out they can still enjoy life and you will learn a lot from them....I know I've learned a lot from my two SN kids that I wouldn't have learned if they were healthy

No. I am not having any children. I have too many genetic disorders. My mother wanted to have 10 children, despite the fact she had so many abnormalities.

Depends on the disease. Tay Sachs Disease no but hair loss, etc. is refered to as diseases and they can be fixed to a certain point.
