I think he will be smart, not like Bush and will not be a Republican.
-
Maybe Hillary Clinton. I think she's quite good at what she does.

I'm backing Obama to become President. For his first few years in office, he will seem like an intelligent guy, but the media will scrutinise his every move, and if he makes one mistake, he will be branded a braindead fool. It happened to Bush didn't it?

As US public opinion stands now (particularly waning Republican support for a war that the major Republican candidates all continue to support), and the fact that Hillary is the Democratic front-runner, I'm predicting Hillary. As for stupid, if we are using the current President as a baseline for stupid, not a CHANCE. Forrest Gump looks brilliant in comparison.

I think hillary clinton has a very good chance to be president.

i am hoping for Hillary Clinton, but I dont live in the US so dont get a vote in the matter (not that that matters as GWB won last time without getting the most votes!) As for them being stupid, is that not a pre-requisit of the role? Joke, I doubt they will be stupid, I dont think GWB is stupid, he made MANY mistakes and has rightly been ridiculed for them but stupid is a harsh word. The next presidant will undoubtedly make mistakes and be critisied for them but I doubt she/he will make as many as GWB has.

It's too early to tell. I don't think any of the candidates are stupid. I don't see a real leader on either side, which is what the U.S. needs desparately. George Bush is no genious and he has made some mistakes but relative to him Clinton, Obama, Richardson, or Edwards would be an unmitigated disaster. I really don't see any strong choices on the Republican side either. Thompson seems to be the only ray of hope but I don't know enough yet about his stance on the toughest issues to have a firm opinion. I think the best hope for the future of the U.S. is for people to be fed up with their Congressmen and Senators and vote the majority of them out of office, both sides of the isle, and replace them with some people who are more interested in the well-being of the country as opposed to how much money, free trips, and other handouts they can cajole out of special interest groups.

I don't know who it will be, but whoever it is will NOT be stupid. The problem with the system is that there are too many advisers with their own (and corporate) agendas. On the question of the next President being the 44th I wonder why the USA is so interested in statistics.
-
Barack Obama is the 44th president. He is not stupid.

I ask: How will George Bush apologist and fan Christopher Hitchens deal with Obama as his new president? http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/1222798 and it's down-rated to -5. This person asks two questions with stupidly obvious answers.
