I have a 5 week old kitten whose eye is red around the lid and a bit swollen. First it was the left eye. Now it's the right. The left one is fine now. Any thoughts?

conjunctivitis. Very common and treatable-but you need to see a vet

chamomile tea to help the swelling and to clean his little eye.. and you don't want to put anything nasty on it cause he is so little. but it is probably normal, my little guy had similiar lots of gunk and redness in one of his eyes the vet said just clean it thoroughly and chamomile tea bags on it. if it continued (which it hasn't) then they might recommend antibiotics but that is a last option.. i would recommend going to a vet just in case..
