I have no f-in clue. I guess that is why I am not in Mensa. Hehe!
-
My guess would be because there is no real way to indicate a persons IQ and the tests are the closest things.

Because IQ tests, like race, or heritage are another way of excluding people and making yourself feel superior. Even if they are inaccurate its still a way of saying "I'm in this group and you're not." As a member of Mensa, DAR, Colonial Dames, and a bunch of other really stupid groups my mother made me join I know this to be true first-hand.

I believe that all Mensa is is another elitist clique.

They are generally inaccurate.New studies have shown that IQ at the most relates to approximately 6% of the brain. They were merely coined in the twentieth century by William Stern,Alfred Binet and others,as means of measuring intelligence.Something which frankly,is not as elementary as these superfluous tests make out.Quite frankly,it is only by choice of what we study and how we learn that affects our intelligence, not our capacity to do so,even though that can sometimes be a factor. If an individual has extensive knowledge of mathematics, then he may do well on an IQ test, which displays mathematical problems.Fundamentally, intelligence is dependant on what we choose to know and how hard we work to acquire our knowledge,as William Blake said" The key to my success;is my tenacity". Numerous reasearch has shown these tests to be folly and some have suggested the theory of multiple intelligence, which i agree with.Alas, outdated 'high IQ societies' are still prominent, for the paorchial, but there is no real accuracy or meaning behind them. They're merely a bit of fun.
