To a dog. Then keep the dog.

our 5 week old kitten would not eat out of her bowls either so I put a small saucer down. It was easier for her to reach and it solved the problem. For water I used the smallest rubbermaid container I could find. She is now 9 weeks old and finally able to reach the crock bowls I bought her from the petstore (again, the smallest I could find for her size). good luck with your kitten.

I could be wrong but I think if she gets hungry enough she will eat.

shouldnt she still be on mothers milk?

I had a kitten many years ago with exactly the same problem. Cats love to clean their paws, so I dabbed a small amount of wet food on her front paws. Within a couple of days, she was eating up a storm from her bowls, and at times, would even sleep curled around her food bowl.

Surely the kitten is too young to have left her Mother. She should still be living off her Mothers milk not eating whole food from dish. Maybe you could try to feed her like a baby at the moment with a milk substitute made for such a young kitten. I am pretty sure she has been weaned much too early.

im having the absolute same problem. our friend was ready to get rid of the kittens that were born in their garage. so the mama cat was done feeding her, thats why she left... i have 2 five week old kittens and slowly they are sipping on kitten formula...its been tough because all they wanna do is cuddle and sleep. so for now i will be there mommy until they are a little more comfortable with their surrounding. just dont give up on them!
