It depends on if you mean to give money to the zoo to help with the upkeep, which is a VERY nice thing to do, or if you mean to take one from the zoo and raise it - extremely stupid.

When you adopt an animal from the local zoo it normally means you pay a small fee (annual i think) and you have the right to go see that animal at any time you choose (during opening hours ofc) free of charge. Also any money you pay gets spent on the keeping of the animal being adopted! Atleast thats the way London Zoo do it with the tiger I sponser.

Wow. I read the other posts before answering. They actually let you take the cat home? Are you a wildlife rehabilitator? Why would they let you have the cat? Personally, I don't believe wild animals belong in human homes. They are WILD. If they must be held in captivity, they should be in a zoo or other animal park. Do you live in the States or out of the country???
