Seeing as a) they do not use the same fuel you and I do, b) it provides entertainment for millions, and c) it is BIG business, I would say leave it alone. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Okay no offense to nascar and indy fans but I find it slightly ridiculous that anyone would want to sit and watch drivers make left turns for hours..but that being said it would be an econimic hit to whatever state the races are held in. They would not cancel or reduce the race because the funds recieved outweigh the cost

there's alot more fuel being used in this foolish "war" we are in.

I do and that's when gas was cheap. To me it's just one big waste of fuel for a few hours of entertainment. I'd rather see those people use the money for something more worthwhile then watching cars go round. And just so you don't think I'm just bashing the car drivers I feel this about all sports. Too much money for a lot of spoiled brats.

The fuel used in the race cars is a drop in the ocean compared to the fuel burned for people to get there. If you follow that line of thought in the interest of saving fuel would you want to cancel all movies, plays concerts, dances, art shows, close all museums, cancel all sporting events (football, baseball, soccer, basketball) at pro level, college level, high school level, junior high level, little leagues, etc., close all parks and recreation areas, etc. etc. etc? These are all forms of "entertainment" and I think they have value.

i don t see it as being a ridiculous sport, the disk brakes and seat belts and possibly many other things that are on cars today and have saved many thousands of lives were all born on the race-tracks.
