You mean folding laundry, etc... Yeah, I hate doing that. Usually groceries aren't a problem since I know where they all go and get dealt with swiftly. I have to disagree with you on spices though because this is where I excel in at cooking. I also like to dabble with various herbs as well. My X-mas decoration looks like my Easter decoration which is nothing because it is such a bother. Driving to work and back is a pain too. I know it doesn't pertain to the question; just wanted to add it.

I think its the initial excitement of using something. When youve used it and the funs over with you have to put it back which you dread. Although maybe now when i do it il try to look forward to when i get it out again!

I think because we are lazy. We can see the reasoning behind taking something out to use but then to put it back in feels like going backward. It's hard to be neat.

Becuase you need to be more carefull putting things away than you are taking them out. For instance, does anyone place items into a washing machine? No! People just shove the clothes in!

The physical law of entropy, which says disorder in the universe always increases. I think its the 3rd law of thermodynamics. From our perpective, it means that its a lot easier to make something messy than it is to make it neat. Or if you like, theres a lot more ways to unpack something into a mess than there is to neatly re-pack it. Its the same reason broken eggs on the floor are at no risk of suddenly rising up and re-assembling themselves into a clumsy childs hand. Interestingly, if we lived in a universe where the reverse were true, everything would be neat, and it would be hard to make a mess.

Entropy man, entropy.

You definitely have to work at it, but I have made it a habit yo...

When you get something it's because you want it or need it. So, there is motivation involved. Any time there is motivation involved in anything things are far easier to do.
