  • I don't know about jade, but that happens with turquoise, so I assume it's possible with any porous stone. I have a piece of turquoise that my great grandfather used as a worry stone, rubbing it all the time, and it's a dark green. The oils in your skin are absorbed into the stone, staining it. Interesting side note, there's people that rent themselves out to wear other people's pearls. If you have oily skin, your pearls are shinier and stonger than pearls that aren't worn at all. So some people pay other oily-skinned people to wear them for awhile to give them a nice shine.
  • If you rub mineral oil on any porous stones it locks your skin'snatural oils out and the original color will stay true
