  • No. But a gay pride parade came to me once.
  • First Pride Parade. Seattle, just moved there (Capital Hill if you know the area). I woke up one morning, got dressed to walk up the street to get a paper and some coffee and SUPRISE! In front of me there were a bunch of women, topless on motorcycles (Dykes on Bikes). Good morning, it's sunday, I just wake up .. . . So I watched the floats "floating" by. Been to almost every other one in Seattle since.
  • My son is taking part in the one in Birmingham UK this sunday i think,he is stilt walking in the parade,i have never been to one and i would like to.
  • How did I miss this question? I not only have been to about 25 Pride Events in NYC and Staten Island but I gave out red ribbons - the first year in 1990 - and we had the winning Float - GMHC. Picture below was one of a few posted the next day in the NY Daily News. They sent me the color version when I called them and identified myself.
  • No, that would be a little hypocritical of me considering I am just a humble heterosexual.
  • Yrs, in London
  • nope, but i have been to an emo pride parade (aka The Black Parade)
  • Yes, in San Francisco, but it was maybe 10 years ago.
  • Yes, but not intentionally. My girlfriend and I got into London on the train from Gatwick and were sightseeing on our bicycles around Hyde Park, to discover a homosexual rally in progress. We stayed and enjoyed the beautiful August afternoon for a while, and the parade organized and moved out a while later. It was all very peaceful and friendly, and we were given a lot of literature which mysteriously disappeared during our overnight stay before heading off for Ireland on the train the next day.
  • Thankfully no. I would stick out like a sore thumb! I am 110% heterosexual, baby! (I'll even wear pink ties to prove it!)
  • No, but I support the ones closest in my life by other methoods. I'm always there for them to cry to, about anything. They're the people in my life that I care about....not if they're hetero/homosexual. I'm 100% straight and made that knowledge to them...just don't try to hook me up with anyone.
  • No...but unwittingly stumbled upon one once. It was kind of fun to watch but how shall I put this...."different"
  • I've been going to the one in St. Louis for at least 6 years now. Love to go to one in another city sometime.
  • No but if it was a gay guy parade being a girl and 95% of the gay guys i know are hott i would love to go and watch! Gay people are so cool!
  • Two years ago I was taking my 89 year old Mother-in-law to her home in Vancouver BC the day of the Gay Pride Parade. The streets were blocked & we had to cross, everyone gave her a huge applause, she danced a little jig, someone gave her a necklace. It was so much fun we still chuckle when we talk about it.
  • Yes, though most of the time I was working nearby and could see it pass by my workplace.
  • Most interesting Pride I have ever been to was in Norway. I was there for work and Pride just happen to coincide. Its was great- small, but spirited.
  • Yes. I will do anything to support gay rights and acceptance.
  • Yes, I've ben to lots of parades, events and just plain stuff. I have rallied, supported and voted! I have fought for civil rights for all of us! Lots of Luv!
  • On accident. I was with a school group in DC a few years ago, they set us loose at the Smithsonian. I eschewed the Buddy System, went to look for the Nat'l Archives, got hopelessly lost, and ended up at a gay pride parade. The funny thing is, I didn't even realize it until later, because there were banners all over the place for an upcoming Folk Art Festival and I just assumed that's where I was. I just kept thinking "Gee, gay people really love folk art!" It was fun, though; there was a hilarious singer performing and I'd go again just for that.
  • Yes I have, my parents have been talking my brother and I since we were little. Last year there was a man running for Mayor who followed the parade with anti-homosexuality signs and harasing people.
  • Yes! I was in Amsterdam a few years ago when the Gay Olympics were on - so my sister-in-law and I went to see the pride Parade - my goodness! it was a wonderful spectacle! A boat parade round the canals in Amsterdam. And we were not the only straight people there -Amsterdam is a little more accepting than most places of diversity.
  • A couple but haven't been to one in a while.
  • Yes, I watched from the sidewalk. it was fun
  • Yes I have.
  • No, but my nephew has.
  • several times and I have some video clips, in Chicago BTW.
  • no but my parents have a bunch of times
  • Oh God no. I think they are a waste of valuable time and energy. What is the point in them?
  • No, I let gay people get on with their own thing. I do not get involved being a heterosexual male.
  • No, not because it's gay but because I don't like parades of any kinds.
  • nope... but tell me. if I were to try setting up a straight pride parade how do you think that would go over? I see cars all the time with "samoan pride" or what ever else pride... think my car would get vandalized if I had a "white pride" decal on the window? then again, why take pride in something that has no meaning on who you are? if I were to get anything it would be "engineer pride" or some other accomplishment or ability. you are your race by birth, and your sexuality by puberty, everyone has one (or more) what is there to be so proud of?
  • I guess that I am a bad bisexual because, other than by accident, no. I am just not fond of crowds and noise. I do not like any kind of parade. The accidental attendance was strange. I took the bus to San Francisco to go record hunting when I was about 13. It was the Gay Pride parade day. I can tell you that my 13 year old self just kind of watched from the crowd for a bit and left. It was so crowded there that it was not even worth record hunting... my favorite record stores were a couple on Union street (not affected by the parade) and Castro (I did not even try going there that day). So, I caught a bus back to Marin. I went record hunting the next weekend.
  • yes but it was by chance. i jsut happenede to be in downtown with my friend and we went over to see what the commotion was about..that's about it though.
  • YES! I am straight, married with kids and we take the whole family. Brighton UK's Gay Pride parade is huge and the carnival atmosphere is fantastic. Its very healing too because of the complete mutual acceptance. Transvestites in their day-glo Madonna outfits strutting down the road .... on stilts. Solitary transsexuals out in their girl clothes, trying to tuck into shop doorways and be inconspicuous, but still daring to be their real selves *gosh horror* in the outdoors! Near people! Young lesbians in braces standing awkwardly, almost defiantly, on their float, with the music blaring and arms round each other for safety, waiting for the disapproval that never comes. Of course that's a few extremes and I'm not into stereotypes. I just LOVE humanity and Gay Pride parades are full of honesty, you know?
  • No. But I sure would like to go to one. I always miss them. They are always in a State far from where I live.
  • Yes of course! Many !
  • Yes, and it was actually pretty fun. People made it a point to make others laugh. It wasn't the inappropriate sex-fest that so many haters make it out to be. Well, it may have been after I left, but it was cool while I was there.
  • YES! They have a massive one in Brighton every year...it is HUGE...I was in the town once when it went through.......it was....different!
  • Yes - I went to Amsterdam pride in 1998 - just before the Gay Games. It was not a deliberate choice to go - I happened to be in Amsterdam at the time on holiday - and it seemed a good idea to go! It was fascinating!!
  • Yes I went to one last year in Auckland when i was back home in New Zealand. Some of the costumes were amazing. I also went to an event in Wellington which was the "Bare breasted bike riding day!" when a few hundred people rode around the central business area and parliament wearing little more than underpants. Some of the sites were funny, one woman needed first aid after her left boob got stuck in the front wheel of her bike!
  • YES! tons of fun! Its nice to see other gay people and not worry about anyone saying anything rude to you.
  • No but hav been invited by my gay friends that konw completely how i feel about the lifestyle. they think I have very interesting views and respect my feelings as I do their feelings. We do not judge each other that is one reason they want totake me with them. but I do not want togowithout my husband and he has to work all the time.
  • Yep. I love them.. and I love the little booths where people are selling things. There was an Native American man there who made his own shampoos and soaps, beside him was a woman who made her own candles that looked and smelled like desserts... I love them. The last one I went to was to support my friend who was competing in a song competition, Pride Idol.. and she won. So it was excited. =D
  • i think that it's not hypocritical to go to a gay parade if your a heterosexual the only way it will be hypocritical and contradicting is if a person says they don't like gays and goes to a gay parade my best friend and i are both heterosexuals and we are huge homosexual supporters and activists for gay rights and we have never been to a gay parade but we are going to our first one in a few months
  • No , but planning to this year !
  • yes i have and it is fun
  • Yes; went to one in orlando ... enjoyed it !
  • When I was young and social, I went with my gay men friends in Chicago. I am straight, but we brought eveyone. It was very fun.

  • many - and I'm a breeder. They are a lot of fun. +5 :-)

  • no, but I'd like to^..^ also, if anyone knows of any Furrypride ones around Guisborough it'd help me a lot >..> <..< thanks^^' hhehehehe
  • Many times
  • Yeah it was fun. I went with my two gay roommates and there cuson that was a drag queen and she wore my cloths and dress up in drag. That part was weird but i enjoyed myself. I think you should go. Unless gay people make you feel uncomterable. Then you should think about it twice.
  • YES!!! Best time of my life:)))
  • Yes; been to two of them .... +5
  • Maybe 7 or 8 of them.
  • Yes. Lots of drinking.
  • yep here in portland they do it up big! the chicks walk around topless i even got naked and im some what of a square but it was so accepting to be amongst peers that are queer couldve cared less!
  • No. I guess its not my thing unfortunately.
  • By accident once and it was a blast. I was in Berlin on Christopher Street Day(google him if you don't know who he is) and when we came out of our hotel that morning to start the day we walked into a giant street party.
  • Not Yet
  • No I haven't. Could be fun though :) +5
