Minerals work best when in the correct balance in your body, too much sodium makes puts pressure on your coronary system (theoretically). It is way too easy to eat way too much salt, as it is in most processed foods, also once people get a taste for it food tastes strange without it, it is a vicious circle. In perspective, too much of anything is not good for you.
