  • EXACTLY. not to mention the people who dont KNOW about god arent even given the choice.. straight to hell for them...
  • When you create your own universe out of nothing, you can set your own rules and question the rules of others who have done the same.
  • You are free to choose between heaven and hell. Rest is ‘how to’.
  • This question was plagarized. You can view it here: http://sedition.com/a/1132 Why can't you come up with your own questions?
  • For those that do not “know” God, their conscience will reveal to them what is right, and what is wrong. Reading the book of Romans chapter 2, in the New Testament may help great deal with this issue. The choice really does exist and we make them constantly. Every day we can chose to do good, or evil. Spirit of God (Holy Spirit) has the mandate to warn and guide us in this, whether you know God or not. It’s called Instinct. Don’t tell me that you need to know God not to rape 12 year old girl, or not to do a home invasion etc… Unless you are mentally dead, you instinctively know that this is not a good deed. Jesus has died at the cross, so that the Holy Spirit would be poured out on entire human race, which it did, so there would be NO requirement for you to “hear” or “read” about God. Although, those things help great deal, it’s not necessary for salvation. Since the death at the cross by Jesus Christ, “The Rules” if you like, are written in your heart and in your mind so there is no excuse, and there is no telling “Sorry God, I did not know.” If God can place an “instinct” to guide a simple butterfly to fly six thousand miles against winds and all kinds of weather to complete their journey, how much more would he care about guiding you to Himself the same way? He is quite capable to bring you to the point of believing until Faith takes over, until then, trust your heart to lead you… not your head. Romans 2:14 “…for when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, 15 who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them)” Legend: The term Gentiles means the unbelievers in God.
  • Eph 1:11 States that God operates all according to the counsel of His will - absolute determinism - God forces a man to sin or put trust in God... God eventually saves all from sin and shares His complete happy experience of eternity with everyone... God reconciles all to Himself through Jesus Christ, Who makes peace through His shed blood and crucifixion (Col 1:20). Jesus is the Lamb of God Who takes away all the sins of all the world (Jn 1:29). The creation itself, also, shall be freed from the slavery of corruption into the glorious freedom of the children of God (Rom 8:21). Hell's punishment is not forever but until the end of the eons. People don't sin enough during their mortal lives for God to choose endless punishment besides it would spoil the future of eternity to have a section continually reserved for endless torture... People are made by God to rebel against His ideal will for them and then offered a choice - forgiveness of their rebellion, or, punishment for their sins until they have paid the last penny... After punishment, those who went through torture in hell come to realise they need faith on God to succeed in life and they are converted into God's kingdom so that they cease from sinning and are rewarded for their compliance... There are two bible translations which uphold the doctrine of Universal Reconciliation with God, and the union of all beings into experience of God as the all in each of us. • You are assuming by the wording of your question that the only reason to accept God is to avoid hell. If this were the case than there would be no difference between a slave and a Christian. I worship because I choose to. I choose to because he first loved me and I chose to love him back. Avoiding hell is a consequence of that love not the reason for it. I'm bisexual according to some I will go to hell whether I worship or not. Should I become bitter and deny God. should I hate his followers because of spite and jealousy. No this gives the more myopic of my brothers and sisters to much power. No I worship because I choose to if in the process I avoid hell than that's the gravy. The meat is an ever expanding relationship with God today. BTW. this is a wonderful question +++3 if in the future you wish to avoid controversy you can always ask for the 50,000th time what my favorite color is.
  • Its still a choice. Its a choice whether you want to be selfish, or whether you are willing to give up being god yourself. I worked for Domino's Pizza years ago, in a dangerous area of a big city. We had a lot of gunpoint robberies and another company had an employee kidnapped, raped, robbed, beaten and left for dead. I decided then and there that if someone ever got in my car, pointed a gun to my head and told me to drive, I would. I would floor it and drive as fast as I could. I would tell the gunman that if he shot me, he would die too. But if he rolled down the window and tossed the gun out, I would slow down enough for him to jump out. Alternate strategies would be to drive into the side of a building or to drive into the police station. What I would not do is drive where the gunman wanted me to go so that he could do what he wanted in secret and get away with it. I would not allow him to kill me in a secluded area where no one would find my body. Even with a gun to your head, you have choices. However, I don't think that is how God views this. This isn't a gun to the head choice. This is a "here I am waiting to give you everything you need to be blissfully happy, will you come with me" sort of choice. We are talking about the God who created us here. This is the same God who created mountain streams and soaring Sequoias. This is the God who created innocent babies and tottering spotted fawns. This is the God who created horses and whales. This is the God who created the duck-billed platypus. Do you think he doesn't have a sense of humor? This is the God who created moss that only grows on the North side of trees, think he doesn't have a sense of direction? This is a God of beauty, love, joy, awe, laughter and dance. This is the God who created sex. Do you think He wants to give us bad things at the point of a gun? If we reject Him, it is our choice. We can choose the vile, the ugly, the cruel. We often do. That is why there is so much pain in the world. But we don't have to. He gives us a choice.
