If you were on a deserted island and you found a diamond as big as your hand, what would you do?

First, I would wonder why a large diamond was on the island... Second, I would check to make sure no traps were around... Third, Keep it until I was able to get off the "deserted island"!

Find a way to use it as a tool.

I guess I'd try to figure out something useful to do with it - tool, perhaps. It isn't as if it has inherent value (outside of a supply/demand economy). It doesn't DO anything. Perhaps I could pound things with it...use it to chisel... Heck, if it weren't a cut and polished diamond, I'd doubt that I'd even know what it was. It isn't as if I can tell raw quartz from raw diamond with my naked eye...
