Nope, doesn't mean all that much to me. If I hear it maybe once ar twice from the same person then maybe, but when I hear it over and over it's like I know your sorry, but where's my apology?

Sympathetic apology's are acceptable, but, there are other circumstances that may Q the validity of the sincerity of the apology. You have to understand that teachers today are under a lot of stress, and get very low pay for their hard earned wisdom. A teacher works hard to get where they are to pass on greater wisdom so you are prepared for your future. Your teacher deserves respect non the less, it's one thing when the government or school district doesn't respect those who forge our nations future, it's totally differant when students don't respect their mentors, it makes them feel as if they are fighting a losing battle, and your going to be the biggest loser of them all if your not more respectful. Statisticly students in China and India out rank you, are you and your peers gonna set the example or are you going to disgrace not just your peers, your teachers, or your school, but your country as well?

Expressing that you are sorry doesn't always mean you are taking the blame. Yu can mean you are feeling empathy for the person or that you pity them or you regret disappointing them, letting them down. I can mean you regret doing something bad, too. It sounds to me like your teacher was losing it and couldn't take it. Maybe if the students had been acting up and them said sorry (possibly having said it in the past) that it didn't have any meaning for them now. You can't go just say sorry without any action to prove youare sorry. You can't hit someone in the head say sorry and repeat. It oses it's value. When I say O'm sorry I mean it. I say it when I accidently go against someone. I say it when they share bad news with me and I feel for them. I say it if I tried to do something for them and it didnt' work out.
