  • All men do this at least one time in their life. I did, until i opened the clothes washer door and discovered my white underwear had turned into a nice pink-rose color. No more washing clothes here, for me.
  • Same as your husbands. However, I use cold water and a delicate cycle. This preserves the fabrics longer. Laundry detergent nowadays are strong enough to use on all fabrics in cold water. This method saves time.
  • light stuff and dark stuff = stuff I can bleach and stuff I wouldn't dare. No fuss. Sometimes when I care I wash all the towels together so I can use extra softener on them.
  • I'm a sorter, too. I pretty much go by the five categories you listed. I generally wash undies and socks separately.
  • My laundry style is a lot like your husbands. With brand new, colourful clothes, I will wash them with like colours, but once I've washed them a few times, they all go together. I don't have the patience for sorting.
  • I seperate some stuff like the socks and underwear get washed seperatly but most of the clothes just go together. my gf complains about me washing her shirts with jeans so I ussually just leave those for her to wash.
  • I have a load of lights and a load of darks. Two loads will take care of all my laundry needs.
  • I separate into colors / whites / blacks, and then if theres more than one load in each of those categories, ill separate into light / heavy, and wash the heavy first so they can start drying before the lighter materials. Most of the time I only have enough to do a couple loads though so those get mixed a little bit.
  • Three piles: lights, darks, delicates.
  • 3 categories are enough: whites rest of other colours towels
