  • It seems like a natural process of growing up and peer pressure will dictate if one experiments or not.
  • Yeah, certainly. It teaches you a lot, and kills the Curiousity monster. I really think that eveyone NEEDS times when the feel insecure etc just as much as you need happiness because it results in a stronger person.
  • No. I never did drugs of any kind when I was a teenager. Nor did I associate with anyone who did. There are plenty of other ways to "experiment" if one wants to. Such as getting a summer job in a National park or traveling throughtout Europe if one wants in some summer, by saving up the money spent on drugs and other useless things during the school year.
  • no... I think teens need time to rebel and try to find themselves... it doesn't have to include drugs...
  • I think that an important part of growing up is to take time while you still can to experience everything you have even the slightest twinge of curiosity about so that you can get most of your exploration out of the way during a time in life when it's not quite so dangerous and when you can still be supported to a greater degree if you make a mistake. And for many teenagers, that does include drug use and other reckless behavior. Everyone needs some time to be free and wild in life, and if you're going to, it's almost always better to do it young, before you have too many other people depending on you and while you still have some people you can depend on, exactly how they go about it depends on the person though.
  • I don't think it's a necessity to experiment with any toxic substance, but it is perfectly normal for teenagers to want to rebel in order to form their own personality. I don't think it's too much to worry about if a teen experiments with a bit of Pot once in a while, but should be very carefull not to fall into the more dangerous drugs to find out soon enough that they have a life long problem that will destroy their life and possibly kill them.
  • NO just because ur a teen dont mean u can try drugs and other stupid stuff its not like there a good thing and there something for u to try and like ur not supposed to like it i dont see how people say "is it okay to try drugs" omg u know its not "okay" dont do it its that easy we all no drugs are illegal and arent good for u why would u want to try it.
  • Absolutely not. There are millions of teens that never do any such thing and still manage to grow up. There are also millions of teens who get hooked on drugs and end up dead because of going off the rails.
  • No. Finding one's own path is different from engaging in destructive behaviour. There are many things that can help you grow up without drug taking. You might consider character-building things like community work, things which teach you skills and help you think of others instead of just your own 'pleasures'.
  • For God's sake no. How did you dream up a question like this?
  • Hi, recommend you stay away from drugs and alcohol esp for recreation use. Meth is a killer. I guarantee you if you are able to stay away from drugs and alcohol of any type you will be saner in later years than the users around you. Hope that helps
  • I think it all depends on who the teen in question is. I myself feel, and have been told that I am far older then my years, and I for one have no desire to use drugs, though in some eyes I may 'go off the rails' a bit. Persoanly, I think that teens are just trying to find what is right for them, and that hopefuly they will learn that drugs are not right, nor is - depending on how you interpite 'going off the rails'. It's a time to grow an mature, to learn right and wrong, or at least a different kind of right and wrong.
  • Crazy, but thats how it goes Millions of people living as foes Maybe its not to late To learn how to love And forget how to hate Mental wounds not healing Lifes a bitter shame Im going off the rails on a crazy train Ive listened to preachers Ive listened to fools Ive watched all the dropouts Who make their own rules One person conditioned to rule and control The media sells it and you have the role Mental wounds still screaming Driving me insane Im going off the rails on a crazy train I know that things are going wrong for me You gotta listen to my words Yeh-h Heirs of a cold war Thats what weve become Inheriting troubles Im mentally numb Crazy, I just cannot bear Im living with something that just isnt fair Mental wounds not healing Who and whats to blame Im going off the rails on a crazy train
  • I tried putting this in comments twice and it would not take it. So I will put it in the answers. The important thing to remember about experimenting with illegal drugs is that it makes you a criminal in the eyes of the law. Whether it should be illegal is not worth discussing as we need to deal with realities and not what " should be". In order to get the illegal drugs you will have to associate with other criminals. If your "friends" are caught they may turn you in to save themselves. Not to mention hide their drugs in your car, house etc. I have seen both happen. Some experiences can be done without in life. Such as body cavity searches, being sodomized by fellow inmates, lawers fees and court cost, probation fees, bail bonds etc. It is just not worth the risk. There are too many ways of growing and learning in life without having to go down into the sewers to explore them. And it is far from assured that someone will survive the experiences. I personally know several people who are dead (not from the drugs but from being murdered by other drug users/dealers), or spent years in jail because of drug use. Just not worth the risk.
