Yes, I do. My field of study was Indonesian and malayan Studies. Over 2000 years, the Indonesian archipelago has been influenced by Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam, all on top of animist foundations. So, it was necessary for us to study the beliefs of these religions. When I was doing my Theological Certificate, I did a course in Sects and Cults, so got to know, at least in some way, the basic beliefs of several of the major groups working in AUstralia at the time. I have also, as a Christian, a basic knowledge of ancient Judaism. If I meet someone who follows another religion, I always ask them to explain their beliefs to me. Then I go and do some reading. Oh, and, in researching some novels I have written, I also did a lot of reading on Zoroastrianism.

I have read a little on some of them, but not nearly enough to have an informed discussion.

Yes, I was raised Christian both Morman and Baptist. And later became Pagan. I have also read up on alot of others like Judism, Islam, Hindu and Buddism.
-
Well, I don't know much about any religion other than Islam.

I am not religious but I know a considerable amount about Christianity. Obviously being brought up in a Christian society has contributed to this but I have also studied (and am currently studying) Christianity as part of my education. I have studied Islam, Judaism and Hinduism in the past, although not in enough depth to get a good understanding of them and certainly not as much as I would like to.

Yes, quite a few. I took "religons of the world" last semester.
-
Yes, I do, many rather in depth.

I have studied the beliefs of most of the major branches of Christianity. So, I think that I have a pretty good understanding of them. However, I don't claim to be an expert in any religion but my own.

I'll have you know I didnt get all the way thru the 3rd grade for nothing.

1) I was raised in the Christian Catholic religion, and know a lot about its teachings. It also deeply influenced me in my evolution. 2) Religious questions always interested me, especially when they was something unclear or contradictory. For instance there are the mysteria of religion, contradictions between science and religion, the philosophic views on God, or changes in religious orientation throughout history. 3) After I informed myself about a lot of other religions, I think I am relatively good informed. This went even further so that I let some of these religions influence my life. 4) Religion is not necessary to communicate with God, I think. Religion can sometimes help you on your way. 5) But there are also the negative sides such as fundamentalism and inquisition and dogma and religion wars, in (almost?) all religions.

I grew up in a Catholic family, so I know the teachings of the 'latinized' Catholicism, and the American version of Catholicism. In college, I met so many people, and started to learn about their religions. Uncomfortable with some of the teachings of Catholicism, I asked many questions. This led me to investigate several denominations of Christianity. After that, I read up on Judaism, Zoroastrianism, and the different groups of Islam. I have a general knowledge of most of those. But, I chose Islam, so most of the solid knowledge is about Islam and Christianity.
