If the China doesn't lower it's air pollution in the next year, the Olympic committee is threatening to relocate the 2008 Olympics, do you think this is a good idea?

This problem should have been considered BEFORE awarding the games to Beijing. The only way they are going to achieve it now is by draconian measures ie closing industry (unemployment), moving people (civil liberties) etc. This is just one more reason why the Olympics should be moved to a permanent location, and paid for by member countries.

You asked this question in May 2007. Now it's may 2008 and I don't know if something has happened, but it's probably too late to move the games now.

Beijing shouldn't have been chosen to hold the Olympic Games. They should have chosen a better cleaner place, maybe in southern China.
