  • The human eye and mind have the tendency to find familiar shapes in unfamiliar settings, to try to make sense of something that is unclear. If I remember correctly I guess I once saw a rhino lying down :)
  • Humans often see faces and familiar items when looking at inanimate objects. Weirdest cloud shape I have seen was a huge mushroom, friends also saw this shape.
  • Humans like to place meaning where there is none. Clouds, constellations, life, etc. It's all meaningless in the long run. However, if in the short run putting meaning into something causes happiness, I think it's a good thing.
  • Imagination?
  • The human mind has a tendency to automatically try to recognize figures. It's why many of us will see a face in a cloud, pancake, tree, etc. The eye is trained to recognize shapes and figures so we can make sense of the world around us.
  • Our minds rather we want it to or not will always look for ways to relate what we see to what we have seen in the past.
