Thai massage. Hot bath. Sex. Same as combating any kind of nerves really. Just do an activity which you find relaxes your nerves. I enjoy long-boarding if I want to chill.
-
Study hard an be sure you know all you can know about the subject. Nothing combats pre-exam nerves like really knowing the subject.

Study hard and honestly. (Ideally you've already been doing that and are not feeling a crunch to totally try and cram everything in at once!) Remind yourself that you have been successful before and there is no logical reason you won't be successful AGAIN, NOW! Be sure to EAT correctly...balanced meals. Especially be sure you get enough protein, and some healthy carbs. fruits and veggies...if not always, at least the two days prior to your exam! Avoid too much refined sugar! Do something relaxing...a hot bath, a good brisk walk or a pleasure stroll some place that makes you feel good in general. Again review in you mind your many successes as much as you give thought to the material you are reviewing for the exam. Be sure to get enough sleep the night before. The truth is...you HAVE been successful in the past with many different things, you are likely bright and capable...you will succeed with this, because it matters to you to do so.

Really know your subject, I agree. Other things you can try include sniffing rosemary oil, or rubbing some fresh leaves on your wrists to smell. Sounds weird, but it really is calming, and more importantly, aids memory retention. Otherwise, you could do some calming exercises while you repeats what you've learned to yourself, just light stretches to keep you calm and focused. Good luck!

I know what you're going through. I still get severe test anxiety and I prepare/study very well for my exams. Here's what helps me: prepare and study the material well plenty of rest/sleep the night before something to eat and drink - not too much! deep breaths - it can be calming and clears the mind Rescue Remedy - found in Health Food stores Good Luck to you!!

If you wish, talk to your doctor and he or she may prescribe a mild relaxant, like the smaller dose of Xanax. Take one pill one hour before the test...it will help.
-
Study your butt off, but not right before the exam. Take that time to do something you enjoy and give your poor brain a rest. You'll be able to call up info easier when you've had a break.
-
When you study, study two nights before the exam, but just chill the night before. Give your mind a rest and watch a movie with popcorn, or go to dinner with friends. If you put too much in your brain the night before, you'll find once you're sitting down to take the test, you'll sit there all dumb because you won't remember a thing you studied for the first half hour or so of the exam.

Study hard so you're well prepared, but don't get too stressed out. It's okay & expected for you to not know it all. We can't really memorize every fact, figure, formula, etc. So have realistic expectations. After a study session, soothe yourself with a walk outside, slow deep breathing, a funny movie DVD rental, a warm bath, candles, etc. A gentle yoga class can help with nerves too (avoid the more strenuous power-type of yoga if you're trying to calm down). A guided meditation or relaxation CD can help too. Also, on AOL Radio or Accuradio, you can find internet radio stations with very gentle relaxing music (new age, native american, etc). Hope this helps, but everyone is different, so we all respond to different things. What's inside of you? What do you need right now?

will it help?

I had a couple beers before my semester exams at university. It helped me feel more relaxed, with that said though, I did cram for 3 weeks straight!
-
before you go to exams, take about 8 sleeps or more. I did that most of the time and I am so relaxed when I take my exams. Avoid cramming too.

Go watch a movie and go to sleep early. Always works for me.
