Here's my ignorant viewpoint! The way I understand it, the French got all up in arms because they were 'scared' of the wealthy, and they wanted some bread. So like pressies, they stormed 'parliament' or whatever, and refused to leave. Then some tranny came in on a horse and saved them all. Haven't studied it sense the 10th grade though (4 years). That viewpoint should give you a place to start. ;)

Alright so first of all revolutions are a normal thing for the French, i do believe the guillotine was first started being used, soon after though napoleon would come to power and start his regime so maybe have like a shadow of him in the background
