Why is everyone so concerned with the points system? I thought we were here to share knowledge and communicate?

because the points made it fun!! now its a tad bit less fun. Plus I don't know about you, but I sometimes have a hard time with change, and this is a big change with AB, like when they got the new Layout I threw a bitch fit for a few days, but I got used to it. I'm throwing a bitch fit right now over the new points system, but I'll adjust soon and get over it.

1) just now, some people do not understand what is happening, because the point system is changing and maybe some did not notice the small announcement on the home page. 2) I am not SO concerned about points. But sometimes I like to look at points and levels (not just mine), and I enjoy receiving points and giving some. It is just not a major concern. And if some people's main interest are points, I let them have their fun.

Sharing knowledge and communicating? Aye..perhaps so, but then why a ranking system at all? Tis obvious competition is encouraged despite verbiage to the contrary.

Because they want to become the most popular person here. The ones who believe in that are misguided, immature and not worth my time, and should leave this site with immediate effect. People are starting to care about points now because it will take so many points to level up, and thus they cannot attain the levels of popularity that they wish for. To those that my statement applies to; You know who you are.

It is nice to have a Thank You. Certainly we are here to help - but it is nice to know we are succeeding. Comments are useful feedback, but fill up the page; I don't want the comments page filled up with just "Thank You". Points are a simple way of expressing appreciation. And it is nice to know that a lot of people appreciated you, so it is nice to have them accumulate.

Point system, WHAT POINT SYSTEM ? where did thay come from ? when did we start getting points? What can we trade our points in for ? How much are they worth? How can I get more points? Can I buy points How many do you need to win WHAT DO YOU WIN ? and, where have all the trolls gone?
