For such a simple system, there are so many things to check. You say the fan stopped working but the fan is fine? How did you arrive at that conclusion?
Typical points of failure in combined A/C and heater:
- A/C, Blower fuses
- A/C low pressure relay
- Blower motor
- Blower relay
- Internal console selector arced-over or grounded out
- Bad ground for blower under hood
- Bad thermostat for heater core
- Bad heater vent servo (if applicable)

1996 Volvo 850. Forgot lights on, killed the battery. Tried to jump start, the engine would turn but wouldn't start. Same with new battery

The automatic Volvo transmission 'W' stands for wet, or winter mode, does one know if it is Ok to keep the gears in that mode?

You're reading My volvo 740 gl station wagon's fan stopped working and the fan is fine, so i believe it is the relay or the relay switch, where are these located so i can check them and see if they are in working order?
